These are from spring break.
Sad that they are only being shared now.
Being here is a dream.
Peace.

Students of the fourth and fifth grade classes of Pittsburgh Dilworth Elementary, 6200 Stanton Avenue, as well as other artists and members of the greater community, participated in a group knitting project. After school there were Knit-A-Thons. A number of students have become interested in the craft of knitting and many have begun to make small squares. These have been sewn together to make a collaborative blanket. This blanket will be sold to raise money for the ONE campaign, a non-profit organization which aims to increase United States government funding for and effectiveness of international aid programs. ONE is a global advocacy and campaigning organization backed by more than 2 million people from around the world dedicated to fighting extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. (http://www.one.org) Knitivism (knitting as a form of activism) is a progressive new way to raise awareness and provoke change, an activity in which many artists and groups are participating in all over the world. Please e-mail your offers, bids, and any other thoughts on the blanket to alb5100@psu.edu.

The piece will be sent to the recipient with the highest offer on June 10th. I will keep you updated on the bids until then.
Thank you for your interest and participation, Miss Beck Dilworth Art Pre-service Teacher

time is strange, life is stranger...sharing it with others seems to make it all worth it

Not all who wonder are aimless.

This is something interesting to keep in mind I suppose.  I adventured to state college for the weekend to see many whom I miss dearly, to walk the avenues which I once was so familiar but now seem so far away.  It is strange.  I sit at my long awaited table at Webster's and work on my lessons for Monday and dream.

"It is a sin against others and ourselves not to act on a good impulse."  (I heard this on the morning announcements this week and it's stuck with me.)

what i do with my time now

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade... and art.

Today it was warmer.  By warmer, I mean that one could be outside in long sleeves and comfortable and drive home with the windows down enjoying the air.  I contemplated sandals.

This week marks my sixth week teaching.  I have three weeks left at this high school before I venture off to elementary, then graduation, and then...the world.

the place where I live now...kinda

So I suppose that I am going to get better at using this thing.  I'm in desperate need of an artistic outlet though yoga, vampires, guitar, music, and libraries are providing pretty decent distractions.

I miss the sun.
